Nor'easter uncovers 1884 shipwreck on Nantucket beach

The powerful nor'easter that hammered the Northeast also uncovered a piece of maritime history. Erosion along the Massachusetts island's south shore stripped away enough sand to expose a large section of wooden wreckage believed to belong to the Warren Sawyer, a 19th-century schooner that was wrecked by gale-force winds in December 1884. More than 140 years later, another storm has pulled part of the Warren Sawyer back into view.
